BJP Leader Rupesh Pandey Visits Tarapith Dham, Offers Prayers at Maa Tara Shrine

Tarapith/Rampurhat, September 22, 2026: BJP leader Rupesh Pandey visited the renowned Tarapith Dham in West Bengal and offered prayers at the Maa Tara temple. Pandey, who describes himself as a devotee of Maa Tara, has visited the temple on several occasions.

During his visit on Sunday afternoon, Pandey performed rituals and offered prayers at the temple shrine. Priests conducted the worship amid the chanting of Vedic mantras and presented him with a red chunri, prasad and mahaprasad.

Rupesh Pandey Visits Tarapith Mahashmashan

After offering prayers at the temple, Rupesh Pandey visited the Tarapith Mahashmashan, located near the Dwarka River. The cremation ground is closely associated with the spiritual traditions surrounding Tarapith.

Pandey also paid his respects at the sadhana sthali of saint Bamakhyapa, a prominent figure in the religious traditions associated with Tarapith. He subsequently visited Jivit Kund, a sacred pond within the Tarapith pilgrimage complex.

According to local religious belief, Jivit Kund is associated with healing and spiritual significance. These are traditional beliefs and are not established medical claims.

Pandey Speaks About His Connection With Tarapith

Speaking to the media during the visit, Rupesh Pandey said that his association with Tarapith goes back a long way. He said that whenever he gets an opportunity to visit the region, he makes it a point to visit Maa Tara’s shrine.

Pandey also referred to Tarapith’s association with the Shaktipeeth tradition and the spiritual practices of figures such as Maharshi Vashistha and Bamakhyapa.

He said that visiting Tarapith gives him a sense of peace and renewed positive energy. According to Pandey, he prayed for the peace, prosperity and well-being of the nation and the region.

Local BJP Workers and Temple Committee Members Present

Several local BJP workers and members of the temple committee were present during Pandey’s visit to Tarapith.

Tarapith, located in Birbhum district of West Bengal, is one of the state’s prominent pilgrimage destinations and is particularly associated with the worship of Maa Tara. The temple and surrounding religious sites attract devotees throughout the year.

Pandey’s latest visit once again highlighted his stated personal connection with Tarapith and Maa Tara, as he participated in prayers and visited several important religious sites in the temple complex.
