The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI), through its Financial Markets and Investors’ Awareness Committee (FM&IAC), has launched two specialised certificate courses aimed at strengthening the professional capabilities of Key Managerial Personnel (KMPs) and enhancing regulatory compliance across the International Financial Services Centre (IFSC) ecosystem.

The courses focus on critical areas of financial services, including fund management, capital markets and regulatory compliance, helping professionals develop specialised knowledge required to operate effectively within India’s rapidly evolving IFSC environment.

The two programmes — Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Fund Management in IFSC and Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Capital Market Intermediaries and Listing Requirements of IFSCA — were launched at GIFT City, Gandhinagar.

The launch was attended by Shri K. Rajaraman, Chairman, IFSCA, along with Shri Pradeep Ramakrishnan, Executive Director, IFSCA; CA. Jay Chhaira, Chairman, FM&IAC, ICAI; CA. Hans Raj Chugh, Vice-Chairman, FM&IAC, ICAI, and other Central and Regional Council Members of ICAI.

ICAI Fund Management Certificate Course Recognised by IFSCA

The Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Fund Management in IFSC has been recognised as an eligible certificate course under the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Fund Management) Regulations, 2025.

The course is specifically designed for Key Managerial Personnel of Fund Management Entities operating in IFSCs. It aims to provide professionals with a stronger understanding of the regulatory framework applicable to fund management activities within the international financial services ecosystem.

Capital Market Intermediaries Course Focuses on Compliance

The second programme, Certificate Course on Regulatory Framework for Capital Market Intermediaries and Listing Requirements of IFSCA, has also received recognition as an eligible certificate course under the International Financial Services Centres Authority (Capital Market Intermediaries) Regulations, 2025.

The course is specified for Key Managerial Personnel of Capital Market Intermediaries in IFSC and focuses on regulatory requirements, compliance frameworks and listing-related provisions applicable to the sector.

ICAI Highlights Need for Specialised IFSC Professionals

Speaking at the occasion, CA. Prasanna Kumar D, President, ICAI, said the recognition of the specialised certificate courses by IFSCA represents an important step towards strengthening professional capabilities and promoting a culture of regulatory excellence within India’s International Financial Services Centres.

He highlighted the growing requirement for professionals with specialised knowledge of regulatory and compliance frameworks as the IFSC ecosystem develops into a globally competitive financial services hub.

Through these initiatives, ICAI aims to contribute to the development of skilled professionals capable of supporting sound governance, robust compliance and sustainable growth within India’s financial services ecosystem.

Building India’s Global Financial Services Hub

The launch of the IFSCA-recognised certificate courses comes at a time when India’s IFSC ecosystem is expanding its role in global financial services. Professionals working in fund management and capital markets require a strong understanding of regulatory requirements to ensure effective governance and compliance.

By offering specialised training aligned with the applicable IFSCA regulatory framework, ICAI is seeking to bridge the professional skills gap and strengthen the compliance capabilities of organisations operating within IFSC.
