Kolkata, September 20, 2026: Bollywood and Bhojpuri film publicist and producer Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala was honoured with the Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award Films Kolkata 2026 at a ceremony held at the National Library Auditorium in Alipore, Kolkata.
The award ceremony was organised by DPIAF – Dadasaheb Phalke Icon Award Films Organisation, under the leadership of Founder and Chairman Kalyanji Jana. The event was held around the theme “Celebrating Cinema | Culture | Tourism”, bringing together personalities associated with Indian cinema and public life.
DPIAF describes itself as an award platform that recognises creative artists, filmmakers, technicians and others associated with the Indian film industry.
Tirath Singh Rawat, Ashok Kirtania Felicitate Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala
The honour was presented to Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala by Tirath Singh Rawat, former Chief Minister of Uttarakhand, and Ashok Kirtania, West Bengal Minister of Food & Supplies.
Speaking at the event, Tirath Singh Rawat praised Patiyala’s work in the promotion of Bhojpuri and Bollywood cinema and congratulated him on receiving the honour.
Rawat said that the contribution of people working to promote cinema and culture can help take the Indian film industry forward.
West Bengal Minister Ashok Kirtania also congratulated Patiyala and highlighted Bengal’s long association with art and cinema. He expressed the hope that Patiyala would continue working to build stronger connections between Bengal and Bhojpuri cinema.
Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala Expresses Gratitude
After receiving the award, Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala thanked DPIAF, Kalyanji Jana, Tirath Singh Rawat and Ashok Kirtania for the recognition.
Patiyala said the award represents not only his individual work but also the wider Bhojpuri and Bollywood film industry. He added that the recognition brings greater responsibility and reaffirmed his intention to continue working in film publicity, production and culturally oriented cinema.
Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala’s Contribution to Film Publicity
According to the information provided for the event, Sanjay Bhushan Patiyala has been associated with the publicity and promotion of around 1,200 films. He has also worked as a producer and director and has been involved in the production of films and video albums.
Patiyala, originally from Prayagraj, Uttar Pradesh, is also associated with social initiatives. He is the Founder of the Bhushan Family Foundation, which undertakes social work in different parts of India.
Earlier reporting has also described Patiyala as a Hindi and Bhojpuri film publicist with publicity credits spanning more than 1,000 films.
