The Vision Behind CARESY: Building India’s First Hospital Companion Service
Founder Adarsh Yadav shares how CARESY is pioneering India’s first Hospital Companion Service to make hospital journeys simpler, more reassuring and more humane for patients and their families.
1. What inspired you to start CARESY?
Adarsh Yadav: The idea for CARESY came from a simple observation. Hospitals are stressful, not just for patients but for their families as well. Many people don’t have someone who can stay with them, handle paperwork, wait in long queues or guide them through the hospital process. I felt that no one should have to go through that experience alone.
That’s what inspired me to create CARESY. We want to make hospital journeys easier, calmer and more human by ensuring that every patient has someone they can rely on during one of the most challenging phases of their life.
2. What gap in India’s healthcare ecosystem is CARESY addressing?
Adarsh Yadav: India has excellent doctors and hospitals, but there is very little support for everything that happens around the treatment. Patients and families often struggle with hospital formalities, coordination and day-to-day assistance, especially during emotionally difficult situations.
CARESY fills that gap by providing trained Hospital Companions who take care of these practical responsibilities, allowing families to focus on what matters most: the well-being and recovery of their loved ones.
3. What exactly is a Hospital Companion, and why do you think the need for such services is growing?
Adarsh Yadav: A Hospital Companion is a trained professional who supports patients and their families throughout their hospital journey. They assist with appointments, paperwork, admissions, discharge formalities, waiting in queues and provide reliable support during hospital visits.
The need for this service is growing because people’s lifestyles have changed. Many families live in different cities, working professionals often struggle to take time off, and not everyone has someone available to accompany them to the hospital. A Hospital Companion offers both practical assistance and peace of mind, making the entire hospital experience much less stressful.
4. How is CARESY different from other healthcare and patient support solutions?
Adarsh Yadav: Most healthcare platforms focus on connecting patients with doctors or hospitals. CARESY focuses on everything that happens before, during and after that interaction. We bring a real human presence into the hospital journey.
Our Hospital Companions are trained, verified and selected not just for their skills but also for their empathy. We want every patient to feel like they have someone they can trust by their side, not just another service provider. For us, compassionate support is just as important as efficient service.
5. What is your long-term vision for CARESY and the future of patient assistance in India?
Adarsh Yadav: Our vision is to make Hospital Companions a normal part of healthcare in India, just like booking a cab or ordering food has become a part of everyday life.
We want CARESY to become India’s most trusted patient assistance platform, supporting people across hospitals and cities. In the long run, our goal is to reduce stress for patients and their families while making healthcare more accessible, more organised and more compassionate. If we can help people feel supported during some of the most difficult moments of their lives, we’ll know we’re making a meaningful difference.
